I loved book one when I read it last year so I have been highly anticipating this release! This was a great conclusion to an action packed duology. I fully enjoyed this one!My favourite thing about this duology is the magic system. I absolutely loved uncovering more children who have been blessed by the gods with their powers and how that power manifests. I definitely want to do more reading around Norse mythology because I find it so fascinating!! I loved watching Freya develop her powers further and seeing her become a true force to be reckoned with!Book one felt a little slow at times but this book was absolutely full of happenings from the beginning. I wasn’t really sure where the story was going to go after the ending of the first book but I was absolutely hooked with this one. So much was going on with twists and turns throughout! This one really kept me on my toes!I was a little disappointed with the romance in this unfortunately. Bjorn and Freya’s feelings for each in the first one felt so passionate and charged but I found their connection quite lacking in this one. There was a lot of heat on Bjorn’s side and it was great seeing these moments where he shows just how badly he loves her (I absolutely loved the addition of his POV in this!), but I feel like Freya’s lack of reciprocation kind of stagnated any of his bigger gestures. Fair enough she was mad at him for a lot of the book (and rightly so) but their relationship just felt a little underwhelming for me.Overall, this was such a refreshing duology to read and one that I really enjoyed reading!

This duet is great for Viking lovers. Sizzling romance, interesting magic, twists and turned, fighting and violence. I really enjoyed it.
I definitely enjoyed it more than the first book. However it started very slow and I was on the brink of dnf when the plot twist hit hard, and it salvage the whole duology. The second part of the book just flow and was action heavy.
